Our Story
Ashé & Heir was born at the intersection of culture and contradiction.
Raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland — a place long known as one of the most affluent predominantly Black counties in the country — the founder of Ashé & Heir grew up inside a paradox.
Two worlds, existing at once.
On one side: grandparents who migrated from Washington, DC, into Maryland as some of the first Black families in their neighborhoods. Once unfamiliar spaces, later redefined by presence, pride, and perseverance.
On the other: tree-lined streets, gated communities, polished cars, and the quiet expectations that come with access. A world that looked comfortable — and was — but still carried its own rules, pressures, and silences.
Ashé & Heir lives in the space between those worlds.
The foundation of Ashé & Heir
This brand is not an aesthetic experiment.
It is an inheritance.
Ashé & Heir honors the lineage of Black families who learned how to make something beautiful inside spaces that weren’t built with them in mind — and then passed that knowing down. How to host. How to gather. How to create warmth. How to leave a mark without asking permission.
The name itself reflects that truth:
Ashé — a word of affirmation, power, and creative force
Heir — what is passed down, protected, and carried forward
Together, they represent the quiet authority of legacy.
What We Carry
Ashé & Heir is a luxury fragrance house rooted in intention, not excess.
Every candle is designed to live in spaces that matter — homes built with care, rooms where conversations linger, environments shaped by memory and meaning. Our fragrances are not meant to shout. They are meant to settle, unfold, and stay with you.
This is not scent for spectacle.
This is scent for atmosphere.
We believe luxury should feel grounded. Familiar. Earned.
Not loud. Not rushed. Not disposable.
The House Philosophy
Because fragrance has always been part of how we mark time.
Candles hold ritual. They witness transitions. They accompany celebrations, grief, rest, and return. In many homes like the one Ashé & Heir comes from, candles weren’t decoration — they were presence.
This house exists to honor that tradition with restraint, craft, and reverence.
Why Candles
Ashé & Heir is not fixed. It is evolving.
Collections will shift. Fragrances will rotate. New chapters will emerge. But the foundation remains the same: culture carried forward with care.
This is the beginning — not the conclusion.
